About Dr. Cheryl Taylor
I’m Dr. Cheryl J. Taylor, a therapist with over 15 years of experience working in both the NHS Psychiatric team and private practice. My primary areas of expertise are Trauma and Neurodiversity, and I’m passionate about creating therapy that meets the unique needs of each individual.

I started as therapist
….
As a Neurodivergent therapist, I’ve seen firsthand the power of Neurodivergent Affirming Therapy. My research and practice demonstrate that a strong therapeutic alliance—built on understanding, safety, and belonging—can be life-changing. I believe that therapy should cater to our diverse ways of processing and experiencing the world. Many traditional techniques, like open-ended questions or long silences, can often feel alienating and perpetuate feelings of hopelessness. I strive to adapt therapy to ensure it’s a supportive, comfortable experience for everyone.
I work with children, adolescents, and adults, providing therapy for a wide range of mental health and emotional issues, including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Mood Disorders, Bipolar Disorder, Psychosis, OCD, Trauma, Complex PTSD, Personality Disorders, Dissociation, and more. I also specialize in treating anxiety, panic disorders, body image issues, eating disorders, health-related concerns like fibromyalgia and insomnia, addiction, emotional dysregulation, and self-harm, among others.
